Captain America: Civil War centers around a rift that forms between the Avengers, Earth’s mightiest heroes, following a series of catastrophic events. After numerous international incidents involving the Avengers result in collateral damage, global governments decide to impose regulations on the superhero team. This leads to the creation of the Sokovia Accords, a law that requires the Avengers to be supervised and directed by a governing body. While some members, led by Tony Stark (Iron Man), support the Accords as a necessary step to maintain public trust, others, including Steve Rogers (Captain America), see it as a threat to their autonomy.

Tensions reach a breaking point when Steve’s childhood friend, Bucky Barnes, also known as the Winter Soldier, becomes the target of a global manhunt after being framed for a terrorist attack. Steve, believing in Bucky’s innocence, refuses to let the government control his actions and sets out to help his friend. This decision puts him at odds with Tony, who is determined to follow the law and bring Bucky in. As the Avengers take sides, the conflict escalates into an all-out battle, pitting friend against friend.

Amid the personal conflicts, a darker conspiracy emerges, orchestrated by a man named Helmut Zemo, who seeks to destroy the Avengers from within. While Steve and Tony’s differing ideologies tear the team apart, Zemo manipulates events to reveal a devastating secret that could shatter their friendship for good. In the end, Civil War is not just about a clash of heroes but a deeply emotional exploration of loyalty, friendship, and the consequences of unchecked power.
